Slow day
Last week, just for fun, I starting sketching this one page about three people being asked by a strange floating mask to tell it a story. I inked just the first panel at the time, and the rest of them were simple scribbles to establish the beats of the page.
Today, after a very long night entertaining some dear close friends at my house which ended at sunrise, I couldn’t work on a lot of things, but I kept thinking about the characters of the page, and the background behind them, and I was able to sketch a little after spending the afternoon catching up on some podcasts.
In the above sketch, the first and the third panels will be the same, so I sketched the background in the third because I didn’t have any balloons. Doing the pencil separately is one of the advantages of working digitally. Erasing – which I do a lot – digitally is so much easier and gentler to my wrist, so I’m enjoying this as well.
Today being a slow day, this is all I’m going to draw.
What else can I add?

I can say that Bá and I finished a short story and received the lettered jpegs at the end of last week, and you could be hearing more about it at any moment. As soon as we can, we’ll go into a little more detail into what we tried to do differently in this short story.

Also, last week saw the announcement of Sy Spurrier and Matías Bergara’s new collaboration, Step by Bloody Step, which Bá and I were lucky to see earlier last month and were floored by the sheer awesomeness of it. Joined this time around by colorist Matheus Lopes, they are creating the most visually striking comic book we’ve seen in a long time.
Hangover is a bitch
The long story is slowly moving along.
My newest video-game addiction is called Wonderbox. Maybe I’ll sketch something inspired by it, and talk about the world-building-by-the-player aspect of it, which is what I’m most fascinated about.
Take care of each other this week.
Be safe. Be kind. Be curious
